Bio
Audio engineer based in Aberdeen currently completing my final year HND sound production at North East Scotland College.
From a history of playing in local bands from the age of 15, I have specialised in recording bands and experimenting with many techniques and experimenting new sound. I believe the recording process plays a huge part to the compositional aspect of songwriting and my projects are usually ideas that are composed or changed throughout the recording process.
New ideas have led me to using new advanced multi mic techniques with the opportunity of recording using high quality professional mics (Royer 121, AKG 414).
As well as high quality professional mics, I have experience with using a wide range of analogue and digital gear such as 24 Channel SSL, SoundCraft Si Expression digital desk and outboard gear: Avalon Compressor, The Culture Vulture and Lexicon and Alesis delays and reverbs.
ProTools is the main DAW I use for all recording, mixing/mastering purposes. I have been using ProTools for two years now and have been taught in respect to ProTools 101 - 210 official courseware by a certified ProTools expert. I also have experience with Ableton for Re-Wire purposes and Logic.
As well as studio recording, I am involved with a lot of live sound and music events around Aberdeen. I am currently co-running gig nights named 'Jams Bread' in local music venues. From playing in bands around Aberdeen fron a young age I am well connected with the local Aberdeen music scene and closely follow the Scottish music scene. Our events have been very successful so far recieving good press from local papers (http://57north.org/news/review-mental-health-aberdeen-charity-gig), and sucessfully raising £400 for Mental Health Aberdeen. As well as my own promotions, I have worked as a sound technician for local sound and lighting company CLS Aberdeen and have worked for the Aberdeen Stage Crew at the AECC for bands and artists such as the likes of Chase and Status, Jessie J and The Wanted.
Now with my own home studio set up, I have been composing original electronic music using MIDI and recorded material.
